About GTC

GTC Management (UK) Ltd was formed in 2001 when several utility brokers merged into a larger company to offer procurement and broker services to the corporate business market.

GTCs head office is located in Hartford, Cheshire and has now expanded its nationwide presence by recruiting representatives in major UK cities.

Directors and Senior Management

Gary Owen

Gary Owen - Managing Director

Co-founder of GTC and Former professional footballer, Gary played for Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion & Sheffield Wednesday as well as representing England, before setting up the company in 2001.

Gary is responsible for growth in client base and the company’s sales team, his communication and networking skills have contributed greatly to building GTC’s impressive client list.

As Managing Director Gary has developed and implemented the strategic plan for GTC, and is also responsible for the ongoing business plan for the long term future of the organisation.

Gary’s is an active fundraiser for local charities, one of which is the company’s preferred charity Disabled Living in Manchester.

Kevin Parker

Kevin Parker - Operational Director/Company Secretary

Kevin manages both the day to day running of GTC, based in the company offices in Hartford, Cheshire, and is responsible for ensuring staff strives to meet all performance targets, policies and rules set by the board.

Kevin also monitors all of the company’s operational budgets.

As company secretary Kevin is responsible for ensuring the compliance in relation to financial and legal practices, as well as issues of corporate governance along with recording the minutes at board meetings.

Kevin had previously been Credit Manager for a Steel Stockholding company, Sales Office Manager for part of the Bowater Group and Commercial Director for a Corrugated Packaging Company in the North West

In his spare time Kevin is The General Secretary of Manchester City Football Club’s Official Supporters Club.

Ian Withers

Ian Withers - Non Executive Director

Ian has been involved with GTC since the company was formed and his impartial advice has been an important part of the growth of the Company.

Ian is responsible for the constructively challenging and contributing to the development of the company strategy.

He audits the performance of the management in meeting the agreed goal, and is responsible for determining appropriate levels of remuneration of executive directors.

David Birch

David Birch - Non Executive Director

David is responsible for managing the financial risks of the business and has set up systems for planning and record-keeping to ensure reporting to higher management can be available daily.

David offers a wealth of knowledge to the management team by offering objective strategies to help develop systems and a stable business structure

David joined GTC Management after first completing a management buyout and sale of one of the most profitable thread companies in Europe.

Julie Green

Julie Green - Business Development Manager

Julie joined GTC in 2003 as an Administration assistant and having helped implement new systems to help respond quickly and effectively with an ever changing Utilities Market is now Business Development Manager. Julie is responsible for evaluating and then realising potential of the client base which includes assessment of opportunities and target markets.

Julie is responsible for ensuring that all clients are fully aware of all products available at GTC along with ensuring intelligence gathering on customers, competitors and suppliers.

Julie has developed an excellent working relationship with clients and suppliers and is constantly aware of changes in the energy market.

Karen Joy

Karen Joy - Major Account Manager

Karen is responsible for her direct staff and ensuring they meet deadlines already established, for the smooth    processing of tenders and agreements for all multi- site accounts.

Karen prepares weekly progress reports, based on the day to day communication with suppliers on any outstanding issues.

Karen also will arrange regular meetings with suppliers.

Annie Burgess

Annie Burgess - Administration Manager

Annie came to GTC from the world of Banking, her wealth of knowledge as a Customer Relationship Manager along with her ability to communicate on all levels, being one of the major reasons in placing her within the company.

Annie set up the administration team, her ability to organise, plan and control major client accounts has ensured that this has been a smooth transition for both the business and clients.

Along organises meetings and appointments for senior managers and board members.  Annie   supervises clerical and secretarial staff, including monitoring the workload and work rate.

Annie ensures that the company’s health and safety policies are adhered to by all office based staff.
